Glucose Over Grind
Why Burning Fat for Energy Is So Last Season
🌸 Hi My Loves!
Let’s debunk a common myth right away:
The worst of all evils is not sugar.
It’s the forever calorie-counting lifestyle. 🧠📉
🔥 Calories: Energy or Fat?
What really matters isn’t how many calories you eat—but how your body uses them.
Whether calories are converted to energy or stored as fat depends on your metabolism and hormonal balance.
There are two totally different cases where people may have a fast metabolism:
✅ Proper Thyroid Function
⚠️ Chronic Stress
Growing up, I was naturally voluptuous but always envious of those thin, bony girls who could eat large amounts of junk and processed food yet remain model-thin. These were the category 2 girls, who had the “socially accepted” physiques but unfortunately a trashy mental load.
(Got off-topic here,)
🚫 Eating Less Doesn’t Always Mean Healthier
To achieve that flat stomach and thin figure, many people start eating less.
But that triggers a dangerous hormonal response:
The thyroid sends out a warning:
"Switch to Survival Mode!" 🚨
Here’s what happens next:
🧠 Thyroid function drops
⚡ Cortisol and adrenaline levels rise
🔻 Testosterone drops
🔺 Estrogen rises
💪 Body begins eating lean muscle for energy
🔥 Muscle loss causes metabolism to drop even more
Physically, you may think: “Wow, I’ve lost weight.”
But take a deeper look:
👀 Sunken eyes
💔 Lost glow
🍑 Flattened glutes
💤 Chronic fatigue
🍬 Why Glucose Matters
Sugar (glucose) gets stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen.
When glycogen is low:
The body starts breaking down muscle to stabilize blood sugar
The brain, which needs glucose at all times, starts to suffer
⚠️ Glucose is not your enemy—it’s your body's primary fuel source.
🧬 The Problem With Using Fat as Fuel
Some argue: "Use fat as the primary fuel."
But that’s not ideal, and here’s why:
💀 Ketones, created from fat, are made during starvation
⚠️ Cortisol increases to maintain blood sugar without glycogen
⚡ Burning fat via lipolysis increases oxidative stress
🧯 Oxidative stress represses thyroid function
🎭 High-Fat, No-Sugar Diet: A Double-Edged Sword
While it might help temporarily with physical aesthetics, a high-fat, no-sugar diet:
Mimics starvation
Stresses the body
Sacrifices long-term sustainability
If you're losing:
💤 Sleep
💇♀️ Hair
✨ Youthful glow
😒 Mood balance
Then you’re likely giving up metabolism for short-term fat loss.
Sometimes this even leads to:
🔥 Systemic inflammation
🍽️ A fragile metabolism where even small meals = “weight gain”
🌷 Nourish Over Punish
Your body needs nurture and nourishment—from food and your environment.
💗 Don’t chase aesthetics.
Feed the body what it truly needs, and it will give you its best in return.
With Love,
Zitni Zun ✨
