We are Living for Dead People
Trauma Through Bloodlines
Change is the only constant in life.
This philosophy asserts that “everything flows”, or that “you cannot step in the same river twice”.
It highlights the golden rule of nature - that Adaptability is a paramount ingredient for Growth. And that one must not be attached to any one version of something.
For when something doesn’t change, it is dead.
This is why when life gets difficult, our friends comfort us by saying, “This too shall pass”.
Because Nothing Stays.
Then why do we sanctify Tradition when it no longer serves a practical purpose in our lives?
When nothing is forever, then why do we not move with the times? The need of the hour?
Because we are living for Dead People.
Some rogue man (or woman) decided on a way of doing things and threw in a superstition here, a clause there, and it became a tradition.
A tradition is outdated when it no longer serves the greater good or the happiness of the person in question; when it cannot be supported by ethics, morality, or practicality.
Just because it is something that your parents and their parents have done, it doesn’t make it “right”.
You should get to decide your own path in life. However unconventional.
Traditions are bonds when they don’t serve you. Who are you pleasing? Your parents? Why?
Where is your individuality?
When the only constant in life is change, then why aren’t you changing what has caused traumas in your bloodline?
Sacrificing your belief system to please the dead, to please the patriarchal society, is a disservice to nature.
It restricts growth and creates an imbalance of energies within the self. You can’t be educated with a regressive mentality.
So do yourself a favor - stop meeting expectations of the dead and start meeting your own.
