Fuel. Don’t Fast.

How I Eat for Energy, Not Just for Weight Loss

Hi my loves! 💛

I’m living a full life right now — eating what I want and at whatever time of the day, without counting calories — all based on intuition.

(Early stages of love💖)

I’ve gained a few kgs — and honestly, I don’t mind at all. But the energy I have throughout the day is what’s truly praiseworthy! ⚡

🧠 Redefining Past Beliefs…

I used to tell my mum:

“When the stress of xyz leaves my life, then I’ll feel healthy.”
“I’ll feel healthy when I lose weight and eat less food.”

Turns out, all I really needed was to regulate my hormones and eat for my metabolism! 🌺

🍍 Glucose is Good — Especially from Nature

Following the blog I wrote about how sugar (glucose) is important for women, here are some things I’ve noticed and want to share:

  • The more pineapple and sweet lime I eat, the better my metabolism gets.
(I usually have them as a pre-lunch snack — a great appetizer too!)

  • When you cut off inflammation-causing foods like:

    • 🚫 Seed oils

    • 🚫 Homogenized milk

  • ...and instead treat the sugar in fruits as a healing tonic, the brain fog and stomach pooch start to disappear! 🌞

  • 🛑 Reducing calories drastically to lose weight?
That can slow down your metabolism — which is totally counterproductive to health and energy.

☕ Let’s Redefine Coffee Culture

In the past, I’ve criticized the way pop culture glorifies coffee...

But here’s the nuance I missed:
➡️ Coffee can be a superfood — if taken correctly!

✅ When sourced from a clean place, coffee can help lower:

  • Serotonin

  • Cortisol

  • Estrogen

  • Endotoxins

☕ It can become a metabolic blastbut only if you drink it:

  • With full-fat milk

  • With some sugar

  • On a full stomach

But there’s a catch...

If you feel like you “can’t live without coffee” — then there’s likely a dependency problem.

⚠️ If you’re low on energy and drink black coffee with no sugar, your body will:

  • Release more adrenaline and cortisol

  • Feel more anxious

  • Experience a drop in mood and energy

So that seemingly “uplifting” coffee becomes a stressful, anxiety-inducing concoction.
It’s no longer pro-metabolic at that point.

One of the most common wellness practices? Fasting.

Yes — people say fasting:

  • Improves metabolism

  • Makes you more awake

  • Brings clarity

✅ And that’s true... at first.

But here’s what also happens over time:

  • It decreases endotoxins

  • But then increases cortisol, adrenaline, and drops body temperature

🧊 When body temperature falls below 37°C, the body goes into inflammation mode.

This is why many postpartum women never return to their pre-pregnancy weight or vitality.

They think eating less will help... but it actually causes:

  • Swelling

  • Inflammation

  • A puffy, inflamed body shape

🧬 For Women, Fasting Is (Mostly) a Big

The body doesn’t LIVE and THRIVE in a fasted state.
It STRUGGLES to SURVIVE.

When fasting:

  • Your metabolism slows down

  • The body conserves energy

  • Organs function with less energy

  • You adapt to a low-energy state

You’re telling your body:

“Hey, outside conditions are harsh — better slow down and conserve!”

And your body listens.
It lowers energy output, becomes sluggish, and stops working optimally.

🚨 Fasting Without Glucose = Muscle Loss + Low Metabolism

If you fast without enough glucose and minerals:

  • Your body starts breaking down muscle to meet energy needs

  • Your metabolism plummets (low-energy mode becomes the body’s standard)

  • You burn out physically, emotionally, and hormonally

🍊 So What Should You Do Instead?

Fill your body with vibrant, energy-rich foods like:

  • 🍊 Oranges

  • 🍇 Grapes

  • 🍎 Pomegranates

These fruits tell your body:

“You are safe. You are nourished. You are thriving.”

✨ And when your body feels that way — it starts responding with health, vitality, and joy.

💌 Closing Words

Keep your body maxxed out and optimized with loving nourishment.
Not fear. Not deprivation. Just gentle, consistent care. 🌸

With all my love,
Zitni Zun 🧡
